Santa prepares for his grand tour of Bloxwich (pic courtesy Rotary Club of Bloxwich Phoenix)
Dateline: 11 December 2010
You really know Christmas is coming in Bloxwich when the Rotary Club of Bloxwich Phoenix's Santa Sleigh begins its annual tour of the local estates! Many of us have nostalgic memories of the Rotary Santa's past visits from childhood Christmases, and the current generation of Bloxwich Rotary members have enthusiastically maintained the tradition.
The club takes this seasonal opportunity to collect charitable donations, which are sent on to the Rotary Foundation of the United Kingdom. The charity provides funds for many important humanitarian projects at home and abroad, and is one of the major partners in the drive to finally eliminate polio worldwide.
This year, the festive visits begin in Blakenall Heath on 10 December, and finish on 18 December on Turnberry Estate to allow Santa and his reindeer time to recover for the serious business of delivering presents to all the good girls and boys of Bloxwich (you know who you are!).
These days Santa has gone all high-tech, so web-savvy youngsters can track his route live online by Global Positioning System when he is out visiting homes. This means that keen Santa-spotters don’t need to stand out in the cold for too long! You can find the live Santa Tracker via this link: http://www.bloxwichphoenix.net/2010sst.htm

If you are on one of the Bloxwich Rotary’s Santa Routes for 2010 then they have kindly offered to deliver a free letter from Santa on their way around. If you would like a letter delivered, you need to let the Rotary know the name, age and address of the person you wish the letter to be delivered to, and their elves will do the rest.
Any additional information, such as pet’s names, presents wanted, sister/brother’s names, etc will help them to personalise the letter. To request the sending of a letter via Santa, send Rotary Club of Bloxwich Phoenix an e-mail to: firstname.lastname@example.org or contact them direct via this link http://www.bloxwichphoenix.net/contact.htm to request a letter.
