Andrew 'Spooky' Perrins is a Black Country poet, artist and local historian. The author of Ghosts and the Folklore around Barr Beacon has long had a fascination with interpreting the history, folklore and landscape of the Black Country in poetry and art - and with matters paranormal!
Now, as part of The Bloxidge Tallygraph's ongoing expansion of our Cultural Supplement, Andrew has been appointed as our Poet in Residence and has been commissioned to write a number of new works of poetry for Bloxwich and hopefully produce some sketches as well.
Andrew's latest commissioned works are on show here - and watch this space for more of his poetry and pictures, old and new, on Bloxwich matters, whether they be traditional, topical, fun - or spooky!

This is a growing colelction. To get you started there's also a little something special below!
by Andrew Perrins, 2009
In Short Heath Park, there stands a mound,
Rising up from open ground.
This is a monument to olden days,
When Bloxwich had its metal trades.
Men worked hard with their hand,
In this park, their anvils stand.
Stirrup and bitmaking since Middle Ages,
Earning a living, earning their wages.
Farming and industry needed the forse,
No work is done without a horse.
So stand the stones for all to see,
A reminder of Bloxwich industry.
But do watch out, the stones grow less!
Where do they go to, anyone may guess?
