Walsall’s Mayor is inviting people to join him at Bloxwich Cenotaph at 11am on Wednesday 11 November to remember the servicemen and women who have lost their lives during the wars.
Councillor John O’Hare has an engagement in the town prior to this but will make his way to the cenotaph to join Bloxwich councillors, members of the Normandy Veterans Association and members of the Royal British Legion.
The Mayor said: “I would like to extend an invitation to anyone who is in the area to join us as we observe two minutes’ silence to pay our respects to all those who have sacrificed their lives for their country and colleagues.
“In the hustle and bustle of busy modern life it is important that we all stop and reflect on the courage and dignity of these brave soldiers and honour those who are currently involved in conflicts.”
