Bloxwich West Conservatives on Walsall Council have taken their first steps into cyberspace with a brand new website.
Titled 'Intouch Bloxwich', the new site, which is hosted on webs.com, has been put together by the team's Online Editor Councillor Des Pitt, working with fellow Councillors Melvin Pitt and Louse Harrison.
It is hoped by Councillor Harrison that the site will complement their well-known local 'Intouch' newsletters which are already distributed with the help of the councillors' family and friends to over five thousand homes.
Councillor Melvin Pitt believes that it will give the team the opportunity to provide more up-to-date information, and feedback will be welcomed.
Intouch Bloxwich is the latest development in Walsall's growing internet renaissance, the first such by Bloxwich politicians, and follows several blogs by Walsall area Libdem and Tory councillors, as well as Walsall LibDems own website.
It is unique however in being built from scratch by the councillors themselves.
The Bloxidge Tallygraph welcomes this positive initiative of Bloxwich West Conservatives in making themselves, and their work, more accessible to the people of Bloxwich in this way, and strongly encourages other local politicos to do likewise. Hopefully they will also complement their website by embracing social media such as Twitter in due course.
