Funding surgery for local organisations

Blakenall Village Centre, Thames Road.

Dateline: 14 October 2009

Voluntary and community organisations and schools in Bloxwich and Blakenall are being encouraged to attend a funding surgery to improve their chance of a cash boost from various small and large grant funds.

The funding surgery for Blakenall and Bloxwich Local Neighbourhood Partnership is being held at Blakenall Library, Blakenall Village Centre, Thames Road, on Tuesday 20 October 2009 from 10am until 1pm and from 2pm until 5pm.

Information on a range of grants will be available including the Awards for All scheme, grant schemes from the National Lottery and a small grant scheme up to £5,000. There will also be an opportunity to find out about Heritage Lottery Fund grants and get tips on how to make a good application. Rachel Evans, a development officer from the Fund, will be in attendance to provide free advice and support to develop project ideas.

Councillor Garry Perry, Walsall Council cabinet member for communities and partnerships, said: “This is an excellent opportunity for organisations and schools in the Blakenall and Bloxwich areas to get more information on grants and funding which could be available to them. We would encourage as many organisations as possible to attend Blakenall Library on 20 October 2009 as it could bring them real financial benefits.”

To attend the session, organisations need to book a half hour slot in advance by contacting Mike Gaffney at Walsall Partnership on 01922 652479 or by emailing him at gaffneym@walsall.gov.uk.
