About the Partnership
The partnership was re-launched in October 2009 and has achieved much in a short amount of time including;
The partnership consults with local businesses, organisations and stakeholders in order to capture their key issues and concerns to focus on discuss at meetings and what action they wish to proceed with. Particular activities are likely to include transport proposals, events, schemes to help reduce business crime, marketing and promotion, enhancing the street scene, environmental improvements and schemes to encourage inward investment.
One the key concerns raised by retailers and traders was the transport package for a Red Route along the A34 including Bloxwich High Street. The partnership continues to be consulted at each stage of the scheme, and work is estimated to commence summer 2010. The consultation helped the traders understand the benefits of the Red Route package which will create better enforcement of illegal parking, a mixed use of parking bays along the high street, new signalisation along the route and make efficient use of road space to improve traffic flow and journey times.
The partnership was formed to give the local traders and retailers a forum in which to discuss issues that affect their business operation and development. We welcome anyone who wants to contribute towards making Bloxwich town centre, Leamore and Blakenall Shopping precinct's a strong and lively place that people want to visit. The partnership meets on a regular basis and new members are always welcome. If you would like to get involved with the partnership please contact the District Centre Management department via the contact information below.
2010 Partnership Meetings
Below are the dates for the remaining of the year, as well as downloadable minutes from past meetings.
Bloxwich, Leamore & Blakenall Business Partnership appointed a new chairman in March 2010. Emma Harwood, branch manager of Co-op Travel in Bloxwich High Street, took over the helm of the partnership with support from Walsall Council's district centre management team.
Emma said: "I'm delighted to have been appointed as the chair of the recently re-launched partnership. Retailers in Bloxwich, Leamore and Blakenall are all working hard with the support of the district centres team to regenerate the central shopping area of these three communities and tackle issues of concern.
I feel the partnership has already been successful in raising the profile of these areas and both the Christmas and Easter events we arranged have been well supported."
On behalf of District Centre Management and The Bloxidge Tallygraph, we would like to welcome Emma to the partnership, and we wish her well in her new role. Emma is contactable at Co-op travel if you would like to raise any issues or concerns with her.
The partnership is actively involved in organising events throughout the year, as well as supporting wider community activities in Bloxwich, Leamore and Blakenall areas, with a view to making the district a prosperous, vibrant and safe place to live, work and visit.
