Some Bloxwich pubs (SW)
Bloxwich has always been known for its large variety of pubs, though sadly rather less so today than in the past as the economic situation of the past few years has resulted in a number of closures and many Bloxwich pubs are in peril today. High levels of taxation, cheap alcohol in supermarkets and the smoking ban have been the last straw for many pubs of character.
The Bloxidge Tallygraph has become so concerned at the number of Bloxwich pubs which have closed in the past couple of years, beginning with the desecration and destruction of The New Stag in Field Road, that we have decided to do our bit to support our local inns by raising their profile, both past and present, with this special, growing section on Bloxwich pubs.
SPECIAL SECTIONS
Below, you will find special sections with links to the history of Bloxwich pubs as well as present day pub reviews, which will hopefully encourage you to not only take an interest in our pubs, but to give them your support in person by taking a drink in them as well. Use them or lose them!
This is a "work in progress" to which more pubs will be added as time permits and to the individual features of which more detail will be added as it comes to light - so please keep on coming back for more!
AN APPEAL
If you have any old photos of Bloxwich pubs and associated people, and would be willing to send in scans or loan pictures for copying so that we can add them to our features, or if you have information about pubs and their owners or licensees, please contact The Edditer, Stuart Williams, by email to: the.edditer@thebloxidgetallygraph.com
We would also be interested in hearing from Bloxwich pub licensees willing to have their pubs photographed in detail, whether in peril or not!
