BLOXWICH IS LOOKING UP!
This weekend,
The Bloxidge Tallygraph celebrates its 2nd Birthday on the day of Bloxwich Carnival, and what better way to ask our readers to join in than by running our second FREE Birthday Compo? And to make it well worth your while, we're offering great prizes of local books and a digital camera!
Entitled 'Bloxwich is Looking Up!', this year's competition is designed to encourage you to keep your eyes open for the fascinating details to be found above your heads in the built environment of Bloxwich town centre.
The idea is for you to identify the subjects of six photographs, giving the photo number, name or description of the building, the street or place in which it is located, and if on a street corner, the name of both streets on that corner.
None of these features are difficult to find if you either already know Bloxwich well, or are willing to go out on a hunt around the town centre to identify them - why not print off this page and take the kids out for a walk round Bloxwich and see what you can find?
There are three prizes on offer: 1st Prize is a Vivitar Vivicam 3720 Digital Camera.
This simple, easy to use camera is good as a first camera or for youngsters and offers 3 megapixel resolution, fixed focus, 8x digital only zoom, built-in flash and the ability to take video clips. 16mb memory is built in and the camera takes standard SD memory cards (not supplied). It has a 1.5" TFT screen to display your photos and is supplied brand new and boxed with case, strap, batteries, USB lead and software for Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP computers.

The 1st Prize is also accompanied by a book, a brand new copy of
'Street Names of Bloxwich and Pelsall' published by
Walsall Local History Centre. This well-illustrated book describes
the fascinating history and the reasons for the naming of streets in
the area, and will give you some inspiration to take your new camera out and get snapping!
2nd and 3rd Prizes are brand new copies of the excellent book
'Street Names of Bloxwich and Pelsall' published by Walsall Local History Centre, as described above.
