BLOXWICH - Believe it or Not!

WHAT you will find here tonight, and for thirteen nights hence, is but meant as a little Hallowe'en fun, dear reader.  Whether it be trick or treat, is open to question...

Make of it what you will, for there is some truth at least in all that is presented here. How much, I shall leave to you to judge.

All I shall say is this.  If you are reading any of this at Midnight on All Hallows Eve, may I respectfully suggest that you lock all your doors and windows, and sit down in front of a warm fire with your favourite tipple before you begin...

If you yourself know of any strange happenings in, or legends of, the Bloxwich area, I would be most grateful if you would send details to me so that they may be added to this page in future.

Thank you...

Conspiracy Theory

Haunted Pubs?

The original Wheatsheaf, mid 19th century

In recent years, reports have been heard of strange goings-on and mysterious apparitions in the Spring Cottage in Elmore Green Road.  For more on this pub see this link.

Tales have also been told of odd occurrences in the cellars of The Wheatsheaf in Field Road.  Of course this is not the original Wheatsheaf, but it is on the site of a much older pub of the same name, and it occurs to me to wonder if the cellars are the same ones from the older pub...  More on The Wheatsheaf via this link.

Of course one always has to take reports of spooky goings-on in pubs with a pinch of salt, especially when beer sales are down, but who knows? Maybe there is more than one kind of spirit on hand in some of these establishments...

If you know anything about supposedly haunted pubs in Bloxwich and district, please get in touch!
