Dateline 29 April 2009

An action group to save Sneyd Community School in Bloxwich has met to plan to continue their struggle to keep education for 11-19 year olds on the Vernon Way site.

Liberal Democrat Councillor Ian Shires says on his blog that the message from the meeting last night was a resounding “We ain’t going away, we won’t stop till we’ve achieved our collective goal of keeping Sneyd open to provide education for the full age range 11-19 along with community facilities to  the local area".

A public meeting at the school will take place on Thursday 30th April at 7pm. All who have an interest in the future of Sneyd School and live in the area are welcome.  The meeting will be a chance to get an update on recent happenings  and to have a say in the battle to save Sneyd.

Walsall Councillor Zahid Ali, the cabinet member responsible for education, will meet with members of the action group prior to the meeting and has said he will attend the meeting itself.
